Steve P. Lovoy, Jr.

Mr. Lovoy is a Principal at AEA Group, LLC and manages its Atlanta office. He provides financial, economic and strategic advice to parties involved in complex financial controversies. He has provided clients with forensic accounting, financial investigation and valuation services in the banking, insurance, construction, real estate, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications and public sector industries. He regularly assists clients in accounting related professional liability matters as well as assessing claims related to insurance coverage and those arising from contracting disputes.
Mr. Lovoy is experienced in the evaluation of corporate governance, risk management, complex transactions, contracts and ownership interests as well as tracing the flow of cash and determining the sources and uses of funds. He has also counseled clients in matters involving distressed, insolvent, and financially troubled businesses. Mr. Lovoy has determined the financial feasibility of turnaround plans; investigated potentially fraudulent transfers made by debtors; analyzed the course of dealings between debtor/creditor and valued the consideration received when debtors transferred assets.
Mr. Lovoy advises clients with operations from local to global in scale. Recently, he has advised a "virtual legal team" comprised of attorney's from numerous international law firms concerning the implementation of a massive class action settlement concerning business lost profits claims.
Prior to joining AEA Group, Mr. Lovoy worked for KPMG, LLP’s audit and transaction services practices where he served clients in the financial services, manufacturing, software, healthcare, and retail industries. As a member of the transaction services practice, he assisted financial and strategic clients in acquisitions, carve-outs and restructurings on national and international levels, with a primary focus on financial due diligence. During such engagements, Mr. Lovoy served as an engagement leader and team member conducting detailed financial analysis, management interviews, analysis of purchase agreements and industry research in order to identify key value drivers, earnings adjustments and potential issues. As a member of the audit practice, Mr. Lovoy audited numerous financial institutions, along with manufacturers, retailers and real estate entities.
